One Down Two To Go, A Reflection of Our First Trimester

Our first trimester is over at Snack Shack! It has gone by so fast, but we have been able to improve the store in so many ways. We’ve added new products, created new payment systems, and completely changed the way we operate, but we’re not stopping here. The rest of the year will be full of new changes in Snack Shack.

Last week we took a field trip to Miss Amy’s house to experiment with healthy snack options in the store, now we have many new recipes to implement next trimester. We’re also dramatically changing our product variety as we mix up our providers- stay tuned for the new menu.

We would like to thank all of you for your continued support of our business as we learn and grow to become the best store we can be, we couldn’t do it without you.

See you next trimester!

New Year New Us, The Snack Shack is Back!

Welcome back! After a brief summer break the Snack Shack is back and better than ever! This year we have a whole new team, brand new snacks, and new set of ideas to make this year the best yet!

So far this year we’ve already started to branch out into new, fresh products, such as empanadas, paninis, and baked goods, available almost everyday.

We’re also offering a new way to pay: punch cards! You’re going to want to try out these fun Snack Shack La Paz cards, valued at ₡2000, ₡5000, and ₡10,000, each. Now with these powerful punch cards by your side, you won’t ever need cash to buy a snack. Amaze your friends as you pull it out and say: “put it on my card!”. We’ll punch it (once for every ₡500 you spend) with a smile. No more worries about going hungry if you forget your money!

Thank you all for your continued support and for being the most supportive customers! We promise we’ll work hard for you this year!

Still have Snack Shack Shirts

Last year the 10th grade class took a field trip to Hang 10 in Tamarindo, they we were able to create our shirts that best represent what we want to connect; the school and world in one picture.

We still posses this shirts for man and girl, for customers to feel part of our school community and world. As the new 10 th grade class we seek to sell them all, for only     10, 000 colones or 20 dolars.

Welcome to Snack Shack. Our New Website is Here!

Five years ago the La Paz school store started as a way to provide healthy, affordable snacks to the students while maintaining La Paz values and allowing students to experience running a business firsthand.

Since our humble beginnings, each generation of 10th graders have worked to improve our facilities, diversify our products, and hone our management skills. All this hard work has brought us to where we are today, and we’re not even done! Next year the new entering tenth graders will inherit the store and the Snack Shack will continue to improve.

The website you’re visiting now is a new addition to the Snack Shack and we hope it sticks around! Here you will find our products and prices, important announcements from the store, and new blog posts like this one updating you on the happenings of our store.

And speaking of happenings, let’s start with a peek into how our business functions.

Each trimester, the class splits up into three teams: finance, marketing, and operations. Each team is responsible for a different function in the store. For example, operations orders products from each of our distributors; finance makes the purchase; and marketing advertises any new products that arrive in our store. Each team has two leaders responsible for delegating tasks and communicating with their teams, as well as our CEO who manages all teams and ensures we are operating smoothly. We create all procedures in the store and are always updating policies, so as you might expect, we are very open to suggestions!

We hope you enjoy this website and continue to support the Snack Shack as we work hard to make sure you’re a satisfied customer. Thank you for taking the time to get to know us, and we hope to see you soon!

P.S. if you have a suggestion for improving your Snack Shack, or a yummy treat you’d like us to sell, please let us know in the comments section.
